Another year gone by.
I just had another birthday. This one was pretty special since we added our new little bundle just a week before. I'm not always big on my birthday like I am with the girls, but it was nice to be a bit spoiled.
The day didn't start out the best with Nolan being awake most of the night, but Mark let me sleep in with him while he got the girls dressed and fed. Once I did get up, I was just able to kind of relax while feeding Nolan and hanging out. Mark mowed the lawn while the girls were outside. Then we headed to Sioux Center for lunch and a family shopping trip. We came home and just hung out. The girls played outside some more and rode their bikes. They are learning to ride without training wheels. For supper Mark grilled brats and hot dogs, so once again I didn't have to cook anything. I received 2 rose bushes for my birthday. I love roses, so thats always a good gift for me. I also received a recliner from my parents so that is a huge blessing these days. All in all it was a good day and I feel blessed to have had another year go by with new changes and blessings.

trying to get back to normal
So we've been home for a few days now and we are trying to get back to normal, whatever that is these days.
Yesterday, mark went to visit the dr to see why he was feeling so crappy and dealing with hiccups for the past three days. Thankfully it was nothing serious. He may have gotten food poisoning which caused him to vomit which then caused his acid reflux to irritate his throat, therefore causing hiccups. He was given Prilosec and has been feeling great since. He left this morning for Ames IA for an archery event. Thankfully he is feeling better so the drive there wasn't terrible and hopefully he will have a good weekend.
Nolan is doing very well! He is such a doll. Not letting mom sleep much yet, but hopefully we will get a grasp on that. We had a check up today b/c they wanted to make sure things were going ok after his circumcision. He was at 8lbs 4 oz today with a bit of jaundice, but nothing to be concerned about.
Nolan hates to be changed, either diapers or clothes, he cries the whole time. Poor little guy!
I am thankful that my mom is here helping me out with the girls and Nolan while Mark is gone. I'm not sure I could handle it alone just yet. The girls are great helpers, but they are still girls and still fight. My mom has been great help and I'm sure she is loving spoiling her grandkids.
I'm feeling fine, a bit sore and tired but overall we are doing well. I look forward to the days ahead where Nolan becomes more active and the girls get back into their routines.

HE is here!!!
Nolan Alan Bosma has arrived!!!!
So here is the story... I was scheduled to be induced on Sunday morning at 7, not because of medical reasons, but because my Dr didn't want to take the chance of us having to deliver in the car or something since we had to drive to sioux falls. BUT, 5 am I get a phone call that the hospital is full, so we can't go in til they call us which ended up to be about 4:30pm. So we headed to the hospital after some walking around and eating of different foods to try to get baby to come out on his own. I was hooked up and such and by 6 we were getting the pitocin and fluids. Everything was going well, but slow. Around 9:15 my Dr broke my water. After that things went a bit faster, but still not as fast as I would have liked. As the pitocin increased so did the pain even tho I got an epidural. The nurses were trying to get me to lay on my sides after the epidural, but when I laid on my left side, Nolan's heart rate would drop, so they thought maybe he had the cord wrapped around his neck or something. In the end, after 3 pushes and 9hrs of labor our little bundle arrived at 2:24 am on May 23, 2011. We are so happy and blessed to have our little boy. The girls are absolutely overjoyed about having a little brother and are already fighting over who gets to help throw the diapers away and all the other stuff.
We are home now! I can't wait to sleep in my own bed, even if its only for a couple hours at a time. Nothing beats being home with family! My mom is here for the rest of the week since Mark will be leaving Thursday for an archery event. He is pretty excited to go and has even asked if Nolan wants to go with him. Cute huh?!
Thanks to everyone who has wished us well and for all the support we have received!

Ellie graduated preschool!
Today was Ellie's last day of preschool! She was super excited about graduating and participating in the program they had prepared. There was school this morning with all 31 preschoolers where they practiced for the graduation ceremony and then they went bowling. I was not there until the very end, but for Ellie's first time bowling she was pretty impressive. After I picked her up she was asking all afternoon when it would be time to get ready for her graduation. I'm sure if she is this excited just for preschool graduation, high school will be even more exciting right?
All the preschoolers had a speaking role in which they went through the alphabet and said a line to go with that letter. Ellie knew hers and was the loudest one! They then sang some songs they had learned throughout the year and received their "diplomas." We are soo proud of Ellie and how far she has come just this year. From writing her name to reading a few words (we worked with her on that). She has grown so much in just a year. I thought I would be tearful, but I'm just so happy to have my little girl growing and learning new things!
After the ceremony we had some cupcakes and juice at our house with gramma's and granpa's and aunts and uncles and cousins present. Ellie received a few gifts and many hugs! I couldn't be a more proud momma tonight!

5 days and counting..
I had my 39 week check up today!!! All is well other then baby not being very low. I'm about 2cm dialated, so we have a start. I will be walking a lot and standing and sitting on my ball and bouncing trying to get baby to drop so we can get the show on the road. I"m not officially due til the 24th, but this weekend would be a great time to have a baby. I'm ok with waiting a few days since we are busy Thursday and Friday.
On Saturday after the craziness of everything, we will be going to sioux falls for the weekend at least. I dr in sioux falls so my dr would like me there until I deliver so we don't risk a car delivery senerio or not making it in time to have an epidural, which is what happened in Chloe's case. So you won't see me in church on Sunday, but that doesn't necessarily mean I've had a baby either. Babies tend to come when they feel like it and in the case of my two girls, they come 2 days after their due date.. that would be bad since Mark is leaving on Thursday for an archery event in Ames.. We are hoping baby comes right on schedule or sooner, but we will see what baby wants and what God has in store. Until then we wait as a family of 4 to welcome our new arrival and become 5!

busy week ahead
Wow! I am 39 weeks along this week. Only one more week, hopefully, and we will have another Bosma in the house. I feel like I'm ready, but then again I feel like I"m not. The baby's room is ready to go and all that, but I know I have some cleaning to do before the baby comes. I'm not so sure I'm ready for 3 kids either, it could be a little crazy around here for awhile. I apologize now for any crabbiness or anything that comes from me after the baby is born, I'm sure there will be many many sleepless nights and if Chloe stays on her track, she will be up late at nights when she should be in bed. I really hope the girls are ready for a baby and don't get upset that I have to give alot of attention to the baby and not as much to them.
This Friday my little girl will graduate from pre school. Ellie is so ready to go to kindergarten, but I'm not sure I'm ready for it. It doesn't seem that long ago that she was born down in Kansas. I'm hoping to be at the graduation, but I guess that all depends on when the baby decides to come into the world.
I ask for prayers this week and we come down to the wire. There are a lot of thoughts going thru my head and sometimes I just feel like I need to scream or cry, but I know its all in God's hands and He will grant us what we stand in need of. I very much welcome visitors after the baby is born, my mom will be here to help out with the girls since Mark will be going out of town the last weekend in May. I welcome anything you have to offer including much needed prayer and patients!

Whats in a name?
We have been having problems figuring out baby names that Mark and I can both agree on. With the girls it was easy! I made a list and Mark would veto the names he didn't like and we narrowed it down to one boy and one girl name. With this baby, I've made about 5 lists and we can't agree on any name for boy or girl. I know some people wait til the baby is born to decide on a name, but I"m the type that likes to have a name and kind of get used to it before the baby is born. Not sure that is going to happen with this baby.
I think this is also the first time we haven't told people the name that we have chosen, because we don't have any names to tell. There were a few names that I really liked, but Mark vetoed them because he didn't like them or because he associated the name with something else. With such a big family and many friends who have had or are having babies, its hard to figure something out. We don't want to pick the same name as someone else or have a similar name as someone else. I'm starting to get a little worried that we will never come up with a name and we will walk out of the hospital with a no-name child.
I guess with 1 1/2 weeks left I better hit the books and figure something out. I'm open to suggestions, but remember I don't want anything crazy, weird or a name that is so common that there will be multiple people with that name. AHH!! Who knew it would be so complicated to pick a name?!?

hot hot hot!
Thats right, it was hot today and yesterday was warm too.
Ellie had her jog/walk-a-thon for school yesterday in the warmth and wind. She did great and made it around about 6 or 7 times. They they got pop and ice cream bars. Of all the pop that she could have chosen she picked mt dew... seriously? Oh well, you are only a kid once.
Today was so warm! We went outside this morning but I kept the girls inside for the afternoon, much to their dismay. Ellie gets very hot with her hair color so the less sun she has the better. But we were able to go out again this evening and it is absolutely gorgeous out right now.
Its so crazy to think that just weeks ago we were complaining about it being too cold and to snowy and now its hot and sunny and windy. We are never happy are we? God has blessed us with such a wonderful creation and we sit and complain. I am totally at fault a lot of times for complaining about the weather. Especially now being 9 months pregnant I get so hot, but I just have to remember that God has given this to us and we need to be thankful whatever the circumstances. I hope to remember that a lot more often as we venture into a new journey with a little one to be here soon. God is truly amazing!!

Happy Mothers Day!
What a beautiful day this day turned out to be! I woke up sometime during the early morning to thunder and rain, which some might not like, but I do like to hear that in the morning. Then my two little munchkins came in to the room to wake me up and tell me happy mothers day. Chloe gave me her card while I was in bed, and Ellie's was waiting for me on the table. They were so excited to give me cards. Mark got some doughnuts for breakfast, it wasn't breakfast in bed, but at least I didn't have to make anything or do anything. Then Mark had one more surprise for me. He made me a homemade corsage with tulips and daffodils. It was beautiful and very thoughtful. I was very impressed with his creativity! I love my family and can't thank God enough for them. Even when they make me angry or frustrated, they are still miracles in my life and I wouldn't give them up for anything.
This evening we were able to go to the park after naps, which I don't always get, so it was nice to rest and then go read while the girls played. The weather was wonderful and I am very blessed!!
Isn't it beautiful! Way to go Mark!!!!

Absolutely gorgeous!!
Thats right, today was absolutely gorgeous outside!! I opened the windows and let the sun shine in. The girls got to enjoy the entire day outside, only to come in to use the bathroom or to eat something. They had an absolute blast! Mark got the lawn mower fixed and the law mowed as well as stick picked up and some other misc. stuff. I on the other had was inside for the morning. I decided my house needed to be vacuumed and some light cleaning needed to be done. I also packed suitcases for the hospital when the time comes. After lunch I was able to get outside. I vacuumed out the car and wiped that down and also installed the car seat for our little bundle.
It is soooo wonderful to have nice weather where we can see the flowers and the birds and all the wonderful things God has created. I love looking out the front window to see my tulips and daffodils growing and looking so nice, even tho they are surrounded by crab grass that has decided to take root in my rose garden. Anyone feels like pulling grass they are more then welcome to come do that for me. I'm excited for a few more days of sun and warmth before it cools back to average again.
I wish all Mothers, especially mine, a wonderful, fantastic Mothers Day!! Love you mom!!!

They grow so fast!
Well, its Thursday and the week seems to be going by fast. Tonight Ellie had soccer practice again, which she seems to look forward to. I can't believe she is old enough to be playing rec sports already. I know I was young when I started, tho I'm not sure how young, but she is just growing so fast. I don't know if she will continue to play soccer as tonight she was knocked over by a boy while they were playing sharks and minnows, but you have to start them young sometimes. I was always really aggressive, just ask my dad. Ellie is more nice and laid back with everything, but I can always teach her differetly.. (hehe) I snapped a couple of pictures of the practice.
They were getting ready to play "real" soccer and one team had to wear the black pennys. Ellie is standing by her friend from school who also has red (orange) hair.
Also, Yesterday(wednesday) was the final day of Healthy Iowa/Healthy Hull which Mark was involved with since January. It was a weight loss and exercise competition thingy that he did with about 10 people from his work. In all Mark lost about 32lbs since January and 57lbs in the last 13 months. He is pretty proud of himself as I am. He finished his diet with a big breakfast at work and then we went out for Chinese and then at home he had ice cream and cake. His quote was " I know how to finish a diet off well!" He will still exercise and such to maintain his current weight and gain muscle, but over all it really taught him some new stuff. So now after the baby is born, I know what to do as well to get back on track.
It was very nice weather today and I'm looking forward to the 70's that they are talking about in the next few days. I plan on being outside if I can and I hope you do as well.

Uffda!
Wow! Its been quite the week already and its only Tuesday. It all started Monday morning when Mark woke me up before he left for work and said I should watch the news cause Osama Bin Laden had been killed during the night or whatever. I was a little shocked so I got up and turned on the news. Thats all I heard about for the rest of the day it seems.
On Monday also, I started to feel kind of sick. I was really congested and had a headache and just ached all over. I laid around most of the day, put on a movie for the girls and just rested, hoping that would help me feel better. At 5 Mark came home to take Ellie to soccer registration/practice and Chloe went with. Around 5:30 I took my temp cause I was hot and cold and just plain yucky. Sure enough a temp of 101.1. Not cool. So I let Mark know and got supper started so they could eat when Ellie was done. They came home around 6 and I was eating but it really didn't taste good and I just wanted to lay down. So I went to take a bath and then went to bed with a temp of 101.4. From 7:30 till 9:30 I laid in bed with a washcloth on my head and water by my bed and I had Mark turn the fan on cause I was hot.. I got up at 9:30 to have a bowl of ice cream to help with a sore throat I was getting. Over all it was no fun and I was miserable. Mark didn't even want to sleep with me cause he didn't want to get sick, so he slept on the couch. I felt bad, but I was miserable!
Today I woke up feeling much better! I am still congested and such, but have not been running a fever at all. I also had my 37 week check up today. Nothing really to report on that. I'm feeling good as far as the pregnancy goes, but have not started dilating yet. My dr said that my stomach has definitely gotten bigger in the last week and I can feel baby's feet in my rib cage, so hopefully we are getting close! For those of you who listen to the wives tales about heart rate and such, the heart rate today was 140, which is the lowest its been over all.
I am really enjoying the sunshine. Went for a good walk today! I plan on doing a lot of walking with the nice weather, hoping to get this baby interested in coming out soon. Hope you are all enjoying the warmth and sunshine as well!

Birthday!
Today was my baby's birthday. Chloe turned 4!!!! She was sooo excited for the past few days, I wondered what would happen if her birthday never came.
I asked Chloe what she wanted for her birthday cake and all she would tell me is she wanted a lollipop cake. I was at a total loss as to what to do with that, so I called on my cake lady (piece of cake) and she came up with this cute idea. Chloe absolutely loved it!
Then this afternoon, Ellie was invited to a birthday party as well. Ellie attended Sioux Falls Christian last year for pre-school. There was a little boy there that absolutely loved Ellie and just wanted her at his party this year too. So we went to this little boy's birthday today and had some more cake and fun.
I'm glad this weekend is over, only because it seemed like it was just crazy busy. I'm starting to feel a bit under the weather as well, so I'm hoping to lay low this week and just relax. Hope you had a great weekend!
